Connecting Your Today to Your Tomorrow

At Cedar Crest, your success starts on day one. The Navigator program pairs every traditional undergraduate student with a Falcon Navigator who mentors students from their first semester through graduation.

Your Navigator is more than an advisor. Through personalized coaching and motivational interviewing, they help you build confidence, discover your strengths, define career goals, and develop essential professional skills, including resume writing, interviewing, and career planning.

A Personalized Path to Success

Using the Falcon Flight Plan, Cedar Crest’s comprehensive career planning tool, Navigators help students identify goals, track progress, and develop the eight professional competencies valued by employers.

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ professional competencies:

  • Career and Self-Development
  • Community Engagement and Social Responsibility
  • Communication
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
  • Leadership
  • Professionalism
  • Technology and Digital Literacy
  • Teamwork and Collaboration

During the first year, the Falcon Flight Plan is integrated into students’ coursework through a required course that spans their first two semesters. Students are encouraged to meet with their Navigator individually to build a stronger connection, explore their goals, and develop the skills and confidence needed to feel prepared for life after graduation.

Navigators also serve as a bridge to the many resources available across campus. They help connect students with:

  • Internships
  • Tutoring services
  • Career and academic support
  • Faculty and staff offices
  • Their assigned academic advisors

By helping students navigate these opportunities, Navigators ensure students have the support, guidance, and connections needed to succeed throughout their college experience and beyond.

The Navigator Program is required for all first-year students, ensuring every Falcon begins with a strong foundation for success. After the first year, students are encouraged to continue meeting with their Navigator through the remainder of their Cedar Crest journey, although it is not required.
